Duck Tails & Ruby Slippers

So, yesterday Hunter played in his first football game. It was a Bowl game so it didn't count towards the season stats. His team lost by a touchdown, but Hunter did really well. Wes has been sick with a nasty case of bronchitis and Grace now has a terrible cough. So we have canceled tomorrow's trip to the museum and instead we will be going to the dr. I keep meaning to take pics of some of the football and drillteam families. WOW! There are some remarkable people in this league. I'm actually quite surprised that there aren't more mullets, although I did see a 5 year old with a duck tail at Saturday's game. Just precious. Today I was terribly lazy, and only managed to get one load of laundry done. It was nice to take a day off though. I might try and do that more often. Oh, and for those of you who have been wondering.. because I know you all have.. We finally got Grace a pair of Dorothy shoes that fit. For those of you that have some how missed out on the Wizard of Oz frenzy.... Grace is obsessed and we have been searching for months for some ruby slippers. So I have included a picture of her at her friend's birthday party last weekend wearing her "party dress" and ruby slippers.

Why am I so crazy??

So today I babysat for my friend Robbin.. Her sitter (my best friend Renee) has been out of town a lot this month and I volunteered to keep her kids. They are twins and are one week younger than Grace. Today I took them all, along with Hunter to the mall. The kids had a great time in the play area at the Galleria and I had a nice time chatting with friends that we met up there, but I think that was the last time I ever do that. It was a total whoopin' (yeah we say that in Texas) keeping up with 3 three year olds--making sure everybody held hands, etc.... I was ready to schedule an appointment to have my tubes tied by the end of it all.

In other breaking news, there were fireballs shooting across Dallas today. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aE1n5qzKNmNQ&refer=us Two major highways were shut down in the midst of it all.

Dang ya'll

Alright apparently it's alrady been a month since my last post. I really do have good intentions about this whole blog thing. Hunter started football. I was nervous at first, you know like when I found out that his coach has a tatoo on the back of his head of the #10. Why is that scary you ask? Because that is his high school football jersey # and the # that his sons wear. Turns out the guy isn't as intense as I thought he would be, which is great. However, the bad news is that Hunter 's age group is tackle--not flag..I knew this going in, however I didn't know that the weight limit for these 7 and 8 year olds would be 125 pounds! Yes, you read that correctly. My baby is in the 50th percentile for weight--meaning he's not underweight.. he's not overweight. He's just an average kid. Hunter weighs 50 pounds, yet could be facing boys that weigh 75 pounds more than him!!! Thank God for our awesome union who has fought to maintain our AWESOME insurance. I have a feeling we will be using it a lot this year.

In other news, Lindsey Lohan got busted with cocaine today. What a fuc*ing moron! The only reason she's not a crack whore selling her body for a hit is b/c we all loved her in the remake of the Parent Trap and the trust fund for that is still providing for her daily snort. And will the tabloids quit saying she's anorexic? She's on Jenny Coke people. And it comes with no pre-packaged meals.
