This is me with my "good listener face" as Cecilia tells us stories about a guy Wes used to work with that lives in Emory, Texas. Cecilia used to "rent from his Mama".
And here I am with my silly face. That, however, is not Cecilia's silly face. That is just the face she makes when she really gets into her storytelling.

New York Pete & Wes
FYI: I loved getting to talk to Pete. We had met a few times before, but never had the chance to talk much. Wes loves him b/c he talks like Tony Soprano, and I love him b/c we're both glad we don't live on Wisteria Lane.

Okay and now for the segment many of you have been waiting for. There was a woman at the party from the Care Center who apparently was unaware that this was not a frat party. She showed up looking for any man she could find that was not wearing a wedding ring. Although, I did spot a decent sized rock on her left finger. So this girl, who I like to call "Drunk Ass" went through all the stages of drinking that many 18 year olds go through. She was slutty drunk, then lovey "every one's my best friend" drunk, then sloppy drunk, then weepy drunk, until finally she was passed out drunk. A family member finally had to be called to pick her up and take her home. Classy.
Yep, that's her laying on the floor after she lost her balance.
And here she is trying to get back up.
You may want to click on this picture to see the larger version. This is when she became weepy drunk.
And finally, she's out....
So after all this excitement, we decided to head over to the Waffle House at 2:00 am for some breakfast. Little did we know, the best entertainment of the night would be there. Here's a pic of us with Kevin and Lori.
The rest of the Waffle House pics will be up on Wednesday. I'll give you a little hint about this weeks W.T. Wednesday though. The winner is a woman named Cecilia from Emory, Texas. We first spotted her in the parking lot when she stepped out of her car and put her shirt back on in the parking lot. She was quite a character, and I'm looking forward to sharing more about her with you all. So, don't forget to stop back by later this week.

Now, on to Santa. The last time Grace sat with the big jolly guy was in 2004 when she was 6 months old. The following year she allowed me to park her stroller next to him while Hunter sat on his lap, however she wouldn't even look at the guy.
Last year she would not even go into his area. She screamed simply at the sight of him and hung on to Wes for dear life as she watched Hunter go and sit with him. Well, what a difference a year can make. She was totally excited to go see him this year. We met her best friend (or her boyfriend if you ask her) up at the mall. We arrived at the mall before Derek and Grace was getting very impatient. She kept waving to Santa and saying, "HEY! Where's you reindeer?" So, the first picture is of Derek and Grace both sporting fake smiles. The next one is my favorite though. Derek is done, but Grace is ready with her show stopping smile. I'm hoping to get Hunter by to see St.Nick sometime this week. I fear this may be our last year with him as a believer. I must take full advantage of it.
Derek & Grace

I really like this pic of us. Thanks Shirley!

Hunter's awesome disco moves as he skates.
Later that week, we joined Derek and his mom Shirley at Chuck E' Cheese. Derek had never been before and they had so much fun. I had a nice time visiting with Shirley too. I have been so blessed this year to make so many new and amazing friends. She is definitely one of them.

Later in the week Hunter's school had a 1 mile Turkey Trot run and canned food drive. All of the students have been training for the run during P.E. I was so stinkin' proud of Hunter. He came in 4th place out of all of the 2nd graders at his school.

Then today was Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful meal with some friends we made through Hunter's football team. Chocolate's mom was in town from New Orleans where she cooks for a living, and made the most awesome Thanksgiving meal I think I've ever had. The entire family was so kind and welcoming to us, and they all loved my cheesecake. I am so thankful for the friends that I have made this past year, and especially in the past few months. I am also thankful for my family, for their health, and for the happiness they bring me each day. I hope everyone we know and love had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well. Please keep my friend Melissa and her son Brandon, as well as their entire family in your prayers. You can find out more about the struggles they are facing at www.caringbridge.org/visit/brandonheather.

Then this past weekend we went and supported the Eagles Starstepper drillteam at competition. All of the teams did great and 2 of our teams advanced to city competition. It was fun watching all of the different routines and getting an idea of what we're in for next year with Grace.
